CHANEL’s ongoing Patronage of the Grand Palais
The French house – being an inherit part of French heritage and culture – Is in longstanding support of not just the Palais Galliera and the Opéra national de Paris, but also of the Grand Palais. CHANEL’s support is part of its commitment to promoting the cultural and artistic influence of Paris and its institutions.
In 2018 CHANEL supported the Grand Palais’ restoration and refurbishment project, an ambitious undertaking aimed at preserving this architectural gem and restoring it to the genius and beauty of its original design. CHANEL is reinforcing its commitment with a new patronage of thirty million euros to support the 2024-2028 artistic and cultural program of the GrandPalaisRmn.
The Grand Palais and CHANEL are in longstanding conversation. In 2005, the Parisian Venue became the setting for the House’s fashion shows and playground to Karl Lagerfeld’s artistic vision – In remembrance stand the iconic settings of Karl’s supermarket, Karl’s space ship and many more.
Built in 1900 for the Universal Exposition, the Landmark is about to regain its former splendor, thanks to a restoration project carried out by thousands of journeymen and skilled workers, explains Didier Fusillier, President of the GrandPalaisRmn.
In October 2024, CHANEL will make its grand return to the Palais with its Spring-Summer 2025 Ready-to-Wear show.
