Theatrical Impulse

This series began with a quiet, theatrical impulse—a moment built on a borrowed stage, with fragile, paper-doll-like costumes and makeshift scenery. At its core was a persistent feeling: silent tension.

Shot entirely on 120mm film, I painted directly onto the negatives to shape what couldn’t be seen, letting atmosphere become a character itself. I didn’t want it to feel staged, but like a dream paused mid-sentence—imperfect props, slightly off costumes, and scratched, painted backgrounds that carry emotion, not just context.
