The story of the estate dates back to the 17th century, when it was a soap factory that later closed as perfume and soap production gradually moved to nearby Grasse. 

Towards the end of the 19th century, the estate became a private residence. Its defining transformation came a few decades later, when Scottish lord Harry Crawford Leland of Langley made the château his home. Drawing inspiration from the castles of his native Scotland, he gave the property the striking silhouette and distinctive character that still define it today.

Years later, after standing abandoned for decades, the château found new life thanks to Michaël and Fabien Bertini. Their family-owned BMF Group, known for restoring remarkable historic properties, spent three years carefully bringing the estate back to life. Every architectural detail was approached with respect for its history and original character. In 2024, Château de Théoule Hôtel & Spa welcomed its first guests as a five-star hotel, beginning a new chapter while preserving the spirit of the old one.

Conceived as an intimate retreat, Château de Théoule Hôtel & Spa has a very exclusive and intimate setting. It unfolds across three distinct parts of the estate: 20 guest rooms and duplexes within the Château, 21 guest rooms in Villa Sirius, and three more intimate keys at the Maison des Pêcheurs (House of the Fishermen).

The interiors designed by Marie-Christine Mecoen are an elegant blend of Scottish castle architecture, Art Deco, French Riviera vibes, and sensual spirit of Provence. Natural linens, organic textures, carefully curated selection of vintage pieces, and custom-made furniture throughout. 

Each part of the estate has its own identity.

The historic château celebrates its architectural heritage through original stonework, generous proportions and carefully restored details accented by subtle Art Deco influences.

Villa Sirius offers a lighter expression of Riviera living. Every room faces the sea, while soft pastels, golden accents and elegant references to the 1920s and 1930s create an atmosphere filled with Mediterranean light.

Maison des Pêcheurs feels wonderfully independent. Staying here feels like having your own private villa by the sea while enjoying every service the château has to offer.

Direct access to the sea is a rarity on this part of the French Riviera, making La Plage Blanche one of the estate’s greatest luxuries. Guests have priority access to elegant sun loungers overlooking the bay, and the beach restaurant makes it easy to spend an entire day moving between long lunches, refreshing swims and sun-soaked relaxation without ever leaving the property.

The heart of the estate is its Salon du Château with its restaurant and terrace, the space that sets the mood for the entire stay and is definitely a point of attraction for the guests. Morning coffee, afternoon aperitifs and leisurely dinners naturally gravitate here.

Mareluna is undoubtedly the gastronomic jewel of the estate. The Michelin-starred restaurant retained its star in 2026 under chef Francesco Fezza, whose culinary philosophy blends Italian heritage, French technique and the remarkable precision of Japanese cuisine. The result is refined, deeply personal and beautifully balanced. Together with panoramic views across the bay, it creates one of the Riviera’s most memorable dining experiences.

The Spa continues the philosophy of the Château. Designed across both indoor and outdoor spaces, it invites guests to slow down and reconnect with themselves. Sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, Nordic baths, and signature treatments allow to unwind and truly arrive to here and now. 

Wellbeing extends far beyond the spa itself. It is woven into the rhythm of the estate.
