Spectrum – Chiara Scelsi
Gaining her exquisite looks from her Brazilian mother and Italian father, Chiara Scelsi the Italian model is no stranger to the runway. As a native of Milan she attended a fashion show with her friend Claudio Antonioli the Milanese fashion entrepreneur in 2015 and consequently with her stunning looks was discovered.
She became Karl Lagerfeld’s muse and debuted at the Chanel Spring/Summer 2016 show in Paris October 2015.
While working for Chanel, Chiara was spotted by Ludovica Zanotti, from Dolce & Gabbana, and started a long collaboration with D&G as their new face and ambassador appearing in numerous campaigns. Chiara has also been in many runway shows and is versatile in crossing the path from High Fashion to fronting campaigns for brands such as Marni, Missoni, Bulgari, Diana von Fürstenberg, etc.

In 2018 she became the face of Chanel Beauty adding another facet to her career.
She is also a cover girl, having been on the cover of many international magazines, VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar, i-D, L’Official, Elle, WSJ, and V Magazine to name a few, and now for the Debut 0 edition of Numéro Switzerland.
Raised in Milan, Chiara describes herself as rebellious, artistic, and adventurous. After spending the day with her, she is also by her interactions warm-hearted, amicable, sociable, and hard-working.
I asked her if she had lived elsewhere, and yes she has, experiencing the cities of Berlin, London, Paris, New York, LA, Zürich, and Stockholm. Which city is her favourite? Stockholm, as she loves the cold, and being cosy indoors with warm drinks and cozy loungewear. I am reminded of the Danish word “Hygge” meaning cozy, contented mood evoked by comfort, and discover the Swedish word “Mysa” which is more than being cozy, but taking time out from everyday stress and enjoying being in the moment with all your senses, relaxed and spending time with friends. This I can envisage her doing.

She is also attracted to the way the Swedish are as a society, keeping their places clean and care for their animals. “Which is similar to Switzerland”, I responded. “When was the last time you were in Switzerland?”, I asked her. “Recently in SaasFee” she replied, yet another VOGUE photo shoot in Jan/Feb this year, in the alpine snow.
I asked if she currently has someone who she admires in the art world who touches on her love for art. She does, some contemporary artists and installation artists. Her choice of contemporary artists is fitting, Chiara uses her body as an artist uses their canvas and concurrently she has found her artistic tribe in life, with work, and also with her free time.
