Hermès unveils Into the Horsescape, its ninth Haute Bijouterie collection

Hermès returns to its equestrian roots with Into the Horsescape, the Maison’s ninth Haute Bijouterie collection. Designed by Pierre Hardy, Creative Director of Hermès Jewellery, the collection transforms familiar elements of the horse-riding world into contemporary high jewellery, an exceptional craftsmanship married with sculptural design.

Rather than depicting the horse directly, Into the Horsescape explores its presence through symbols and gestures. Bits, stirrups, harnesses, horseshoes and blacksmith’s nails become the starting point for a collection of 90 one-of-a-kind creations that reinterpret the House’s heritage through refined forms, precious stones and innovative construction.

“The horse itself is barely seen, but its symbolism lives within each piece,” explains Pierre Hardy. “I implicitly tell Hermès’ story, its relationship with time and materials, before drawing on the imagination to transform them into an adornment.”

Throughout the collection, jewellery is designed to move naturally with the body. Flexible articulations, hidden mechanisms and fluid silhouettes reflect Hermès’ longstanding fascination with function as much as beauty, allowing each piece to feel architectural without sacrificing wearability.

The collection unfolds through a series of distinct chapters, each inspired by a different aspect of the equestrian universe. Étreintes reimagines the curves of horse bits through sweeping lines set with exceptional emeralds and diamonds, while Lasso Disco captures the movement of a lasso using precisely arranged baguette-cut diamonds. Attelage d’Or draws from the bridles and buckles of Hermès’ harness-making heritage, and Sellette transforms an eighteenth-century miniature saddle from the Émile Hermès Collection into an intricate bracelet crafted in gold, diamonds and satin-finished titanium.

Elsewhere, Clou de Forge Lumière elevates the humble horseshoe nail into radiant diamond-set creations, while Galop Hermès offers one of the collection’s most figurative interpretations, celebrating the sculptural profile of the horse through bold volumes and carefully selected centre stones.

Across the collection, Pierre Hardy continues the design philosophy that has defined Hermès’ approach to haute jewellery: gemstones are chosen not simply for their rarity, but for the role they play within each composition. White and brown diamonds, black jade, emeralds, tourmalines, moonstones and opals are combined to create texture, movement and subtle colour harmonies rather than overt spectacle.

With Into the Horsescape, Hermès once again demonstrates that its vision of high jewellery begins with design. Drawing on nearly two centuries of equestrian heritage, the collection transforms everyday riding elements into objects of remarkable craftsmanship, offering a contemporary interpretation of luxury that is both understated and unmistakably Hermès.
