Coldwater Spring
Shot over two days across the twin cities of Minnesota, this project unfolds as a quiet dialogue between subject and landscape. From the sacred stillness of Coldwater Spring in St. Paul, to the cascading power of Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, and finally to the place I most deeply call home—Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton—the journey moves through prairie, marsh, woodland, and forest.
Lily emerges as if born from the soil itself, folding into the bends of the grasses, poised above rushing waters, and carried by the wind’s own choreography. She becomes both part of the scene and its gentle author, moving in a state of seamless reciprocity with her surroundings.
This is not simply a portrait of a woman in nature—it is a meditation on interdependence, a reminder that we are not separate from the earth, but a reflection of it. In her stillness and movement, we see the truth: the land shapes us, and we, in turn, shape the way it breathes.
