Behind the Scenes of a Fashion Dream

Dreams, ambition, creativity, goals and aspirations — these are the driving forces that lead a young creative mind to embark on an academic journey in design, fashion, art, but above all, in culture and society.

The undergraduate students of the Fashion Stylist program at IED Firenze were presented with a challenge — exciting, yet demanding in its complexity: to step away from the classroom, even if only briefly, and take on the responsibilities that come with producing a fashion editorial for a prestigious magazine.

The goal was ambitious: to achieve their very first official publication in a respected outlet like Numéro Switzerland, with their names signed beneath the finished editorial.

From contacting press offices, selecting garments aligned with the story’s mood and brand availability, to creating cohesive outfit combinations, overseeing the entire production through to the final — fifteenth — look, supporting the photographer in visual storytelling, and finally managing returns quickly and efficiently, these are just a few of the many tasks the eight young creatives faced with professionalism and determination.The joy in their eyes upon seeing the final images — the result of days of hard work — was priceless. Photographs brought to life with the support of luxury and prêt-à-porter brands that, until recently, existed only in their dreams.

This experience made them more aware, more prepared, and gave them a concrete taste of what it truly means to work behind the scenes of a fashion editorial. A meaningful first step toward a future that’s theirs to shape.
