Aman returns to its roots with Aman Nai Lert Bangkok

From Phuket to Bangkok – Aman comes full circle with the opening of Aman Nai Lert in Thailand, yet this time, following a distinct urban direction.

This month, the opening of Aman Nai Lert Bangkok marks a significant moment for the brand. It’s a return to the country where the story began 37 years ago, with the arrival of Amanpuri on the shores of Phuket. Back in 1988, little did we know that this resort would go on to reshape the very idea of luxury travel in the future, setting the bar high and never looking back.

Since then, the name has become synonymous with quiet luxury. A philosophy of refined minimalism, discreet service, and a deep integration of surrounding landscapes and local culture into its design. With 36 properties across 20 countries, each retreat has upheld the signature ethos of privacy and cultural sensitivity, often set in remote, restorative landscapes, offering luxurious playgrounds for the traveling elite.

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok, however, joins a different lineage. Following the trail blazed by Aman Tokyo and Aman New York, this newest opening represents a deliberate move into the world’s great cities. This shift is not only strategic but also symbolic. Urban sanctuaries are no longer the exception to the hotel group; they are becoming part of the blueprint.

“The opening of Aman Nai Lert Bangkok is a milestone in the group’s expansion into the world’s most iconic cities,” says Vlad Doronin, Chairman and CEO of Aman Group. “Honouring the heritage of Thailand, in collaboration with the Nai Lert family, the hotel, Aman Club and branded residences will redefine luxury hospitality in Bangkok. Providing the exclusivity, exceptional location, generous amenities and unparalleled service that is synonymous with the Aman lifestyle, Aman Nai Lert Bangkok sets a new benchmark for the city.”

Set within the grounds of Nai Lert Park—a green city space in central Bangkok—the hotel offers a new dimension of stillness in the Thai capital. The 52 suites, each bathed in natural light, reflect the brand’s calming aesthetic, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of the tropical gardens and the skyline beyond. Interiors are soothing and spacious, in the soft, neutral palette that has become the hotel’s signature colour palette.

Wellness, a core tenet of the brand, is expressed here through a 1,500-square-metre spa offering Thai massages, movement therapies and personalised treatments. Seven dining and lounging venues complement the experience, from Arva’s Italian classics to a Japanese omakase concept, each space reflecting the group’s understated elegance.

More than a hotel, Aman Nai Lert signals a broader evolution. It strengthens the company’s presence in Thailand while serving as a gateway to its 24 properties across Asia. But more importantly, it charts the way forward, proving that Aman’s DNA can thrive just as fully in the heart of a metropolis as it does somewhere on a far-flung coast.
