 Always the Sea – Territory

Alejandra Donat de Caralt, originally from Barcelona and now based in Madrid, has followed a winding path to becoming a professional photographer. After exploring various careers, including a period as an art director in advertising, she eventually returned to her lifelong passion for photography. For years, she believed it was something she could only pursue as a hobby, but four years ago, she decided to fully commit, studying and dedicating herself entirely to her craft.

Her work is deeply inspired by travel and the opportunity to immerse herself in different cultures.

Alejandra’s approach to photography aims to reveal the true essence of the places she visits, shooting the ordinary and different fragments of life with spontaneity. In her images, the subject always serves as a part of something greater.

“Always the sea – Territory” is the first collection of a series that documents the relationship between people and the sea in different coastal towns around the world, in this case, Morocco’s Atlantic coast: Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki,Imsouane, Taghazout. Through images that evoke aromas, sounds and capture movement, the intention is to make you feel as if you are there, from the point of view of an ordinary walker.
