A lot’s Gonna Change – Fernando Lindez

The life of an interviewer is filled with memorable moments, but interviewing a dynamic and promising figure like Fernando Lindez is a unique experience. From the beginning of our conversation, Fernando radiated a mix of humility and determination that is rare in someone so young and successful. In this article, I share his thoughts and reflections and explore the future of this talented model and actor.

We began the interview by discussing his beginnings in modelling. “It was pure chance,” said Fernando with a smile. He told me he was very shy and very afraid of cameras. “They discovered me through my best friend’s Instagram and then contacted me. My first job was a LIDL catalogue. I was super nervous, but it was very fun.” This humble beginning did not foreshadow the meteoric career that awaited him, but in retrospect, one can see how these first steps helped him build the confidence and skills that would define him.

I asked him about the surprises of the modelling industry, both positive and negative. Fernando highlighted the privilege of working with great professionals and artists. ‘‘I feel very fortunate and hope to continue doing so,’’ he affirmed. However, not everything has been easy. ‘‘I have had bad and good moments like everyone else in their respective jobs. Ultimately, I try to learn and gain experience from each moment, whether good or bad.’’ This philosophy of continuous learning is undoubtedly one of the keys to his success. The decisive moment in his career came at age 17 when he had to choose between continuing his studies or dedicating himself to modelling. ‘‘I decided to finish school and have a year to try out modelling,’’ he recalled. This decision, although difficult, proved to be correct, as it not only marked the beginning of his rise in fashion but also allowed him to evaluate his true passions and capabilities.

When I asked him about his rapid rise to fame, Fernando was remarkably humble. “Honestly, I haven’t felt a drastic change in my life. Professionally, everything has changed a lot, and I always try to meet expectations in what I do, but personally, I feel like the same Fer as always.” This perspective is refreshing in a world where fame can drastically change people.

We discussed how he manages pressure and expectations. Fernando mentioned the crucial role of his family and friends. “They are a great support and source of inspiration for me. They always help me when I need it.” This support network has allowed him to stay focused and motivated, even when facing the challenges of fame and criticism.

Fernando’s transition to acting has been a journey full of learning experiences. I asked him about his most significant challenges when starting this new career. “I always feared criticism and being judged, but I learned to handle these things with time and experience,” he confessed. Despite these initial fears, his talent and dedication have also allowed him to stand out in this field. 

Another exciting topic was comparing his work as a model and actor. Fernando explained that although he enjoys both professions, he feels that acting is more complex and expressive than modelling. “Acting allows me to explore different aspects of my personality and presents challenges I am passionate about,” he commented.

One of the highlights of our conversation was his role in the popular series Élite. “I felt great. It was a series I had been following for a while, and it was very good news for me,” he said enthusiastically. Of his character, Joel, he highlighted his sensitivity and way ofseeing life. “I saw him as a character that posed a challenge for me because we had many differences,” he explained. His ability to take on challenges and explore complex characters shows his acting growth.

Balancing his modelling and acting careers is crucial for Fernando. Fortunately, he has the support of his agency, Uno Models, which has helped him make good decisions throughout his career. “They have always helped me find a balance,” he affirmed. This support structure is vital for his continued success in both fields.

As our conversation drew to a close, I asked him for advice for those starting in modelling and acting. “Always be natural and work humbly and gratefully,” he advised. This approach, based on authenticity and humility, has been fundamental to his own career and is valuable advice for anyone aspiring to follow in his footsteps.

Finally, we talked about his future projects. Fernando expressed his desire to explore various characters in his acting career. “I would like to play all kinds of characters. I like difficult challenges,” he said with a smile. This ambition and openness to new challenges suggest we will see much more of him in the coming years.
