Thibaut Evrard: The Franco-Swiss Rising Star Nominated for a César
As a Swiss talent on the rise, we are proud to share that Thibaut Evrard has been nominated for the 2026 César Award for Most Promising Actor for his performance in Différente (2025), the acclaimed film by Lola Doillon. This nomination is a well-deserved recognition for an actor who has built his career with passion, sensitivity, and a natural authenticity that captivates both on screen and stage.
Evrard began his artistic journey as a theatre director after graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique (CNSAD) in Paris, making his stage debut in the early 2010s with his play Verino s’installe. He later returned to the stage for notable productions, particularly under the direction of Vincent Macaigne, including En manque(2016) and Je suis un pays (2017–2018).
Transitioning to cinema, he appeared in significant projects such as Dominik Moll’s La Nuit du 12, a major success in French cinema in 2022 and winner of the César for Best Film, as well as Léonore Serraille’s Un petit frère, selected for the Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival the same year. Other noteworthy films include Wim Wenders’Submergence (2017), Delphine Lehericey’s Le milieu de l’horizon (2019), and Benjamin Guedj’s Libre et assoupi(2014).

On television, Evrard continues to impress across major platforms, appearing in Escort Boys (2023–2025, Amazon Prime), Balle Perdue (2020–2022, Netflix), and most recently Les Sentinelles (2025, Canal+), which garnered over ten million viewers.
In Différente, directed by Lola Doillon, Evrard portrays Fred, a sensitive and endearing young man whose partner, Katia (played by Jehnny Beth), lives with a form of autism. Doillon has noted that Evrard was the clear choice for the role from the start, naturally embodying the warmth and charm required. Through this romantic comedy, Evrard delivers a performance that is tender, heartfelt, and deeply human.
