CHANEL, A WINTER AFFAIR IN ST. MORITZ
At Numéro Switzerland, winter does not officially begin until CHANEL unveils its seasonal boutique. A tradition that, this year, takes us back to St. Moritz, where the Maison will establish its new address from 18 December 2026 to 15 April 2027. Amid snow-covered landscapes and the distinctive rhythm of Alpine life, CHANEL’s arrival marks one of those encounters that herald the beginning of the season.
The history between the Maison and St. Moritz dates back almost a century. In the late 1920s, Gabrielle Chanel discovered in this Swiss enclave a setting for her winters, spending her days skiing and tobogganing in the sportswear she designed for herself. Today, this longstanding connection finds a new expression in a two-storey space where Fashion, accessories, Watches and Jewellery come together under the House’s signature codes.
Inside, wood, muted tones and warm textures create a contemporary interpretation of an Alpine retreat. The COCO NEIGE 2026 and Cruise 2026/27 collections take centre stage, accompanied by winter footwear, bags and accessories. The former explores the possibilities of a mountain wardrobe, where functionality never comes at the expense of sophistication. The latter, Matthieu Blazy’s first Cruise collection for CHANEL, plays with contrasts between fluid silks, supple tweeds, sportswear and evening silhouettes. On the first floor, a more intimate setting invites visitors to discover High Jewellery creations, the latest pieces from the COCO CRUSH collection and the Maison’s iconic timepieces.
More than a seasonal presence, CHANEL’s return to St. Moritz rekindles a connection deeply rooted in Gabrielle Chanel’s history. Because, it seems, some winter traditions are worth repeating year after year.
